The Agenda – A ‘Balanced’ Team Building Event

May 9, 2009

It is a challenge for both an organizer and his hired team building company to infuse fun in serious learning. But despite this demanding situation, we strive to cater all your team building needs, balancing all the right aspects to a successful team building event.

One of our best team building events is The Agenda. It’s an event that integrates several different challenges that will really get the participants to learn and have fun, and keep them involved. Activities within this event range from mazes to personality tests – all touching various facets that conduce to better team relationship, communication skills, self-esteem, decision-making skills, and other aspects.

The following activities are what we usually conduct for this event, but they are totally customizable depending on the goals you want to have achieved at the end of the day:

Name Game Personality Appreciation: A starter activity that identifies each member’s strengths and other traits that may be advantageous to succeeding activities.

3D Minefield & Debrief: A very fun and challenging activity for teams of two, one being a guide and the other being the one led through a minefield with traps, a combined effort to recover objects. This activity aims to improve communication, cooperation and trust, most especially.

Cat Juggle & Debrief: A group effort to juggle stuffed cats among one another without dropping them. Performance barriers are identified throughout the activity and solutions will be introduced to resolve the roadblocks.

Other activities are the Corporate Maze and the Red Adare & Debrief.

If you’re ready to have your people learn, have fun, and build camaraderie among them, call us now at 1 300 267 738 to schedule your The Agenda team building event right in your own city!

Team Building “Survivor” Style

May 2, 2009

We’ve noticed that styling our team building events to popular television shows really work, not only in terms of attracting people’s attention, but in the overall success of the event as an effective team building activity. Survivor has been a highly subscribed show, and no doubt has got many people want to be in the game one time or another.

Since we incorporated the concept of the show to our very own Corporate Survivor, the success of the show extended to our Survivor-themed team building event. Companies who have already played would continue to rave on the event. It’s a great way to have fun, learn and develop skills, and build better working relationships all in one event.

Just like in the show, the participants will be divided into tribes which will be put through many different kinds of challenges. But unlike on TV, tribes here will have to work together to be the last surviving team. Team building comes in custom planned challenges based on what outcome you want your people to achieve in the end.

We have a lot of sample tribal challenges like the Obstacle Course, a race to be completed by every member of the team, one by one, once through and back. Another is the Water Transfer, where teams have to transfer water from the well into their tub using only a leaky bucket. Other usual challenges are the Red Adair, Mind Boggler and the Riddler. But you can include any challenge you want to!

Corporate Survivor has its own Tribal Council, too, which pretty much makes for the hardest challenge. Just like in the show, tribes will be breaking alliances soon as they have formed one, so teams face the greater challenge of having to switch loyalties and focusing on the survival of their own team. Nonetheless with all challenges heavy and light, teams are surely up for a day of excitement and fun competition.

April 23, 2009

Assuming that you’re aware that team building events are conducted for the benefit of your people and the whole company, don’t you think it’d be better to get really good side results from a successful team building activity? Say, a combination of a really fun and exciting, and also philanthropic team building activity?

You probably did a double take on the last sentence above, but yes, it is possible, has been proven, and makes for a really good team building event. Imagine achieving two goals in one shot: you’ll be going home with a better team and with the great feeling of having to help the less fortunate.

We have some excellent team building events that involve charitable aspects. One is the Bikes for Tykes, a game with an overall goal of building a bike to give to children not favored by fortune. Teams will start with no parts at all, but they can earn parts by successfully completing different challenges throughout the length of the game. Finished bikes will be inspected by qualified bike mechanics before presented to the judges. The challenges can be fully customized depending on what you want to achieve from this team building activity. They can be challenges that can hone various skills including communication, leadership, teamwork and creativity, among many other abilities you want to your people to develop.

Another of our philanthropic team building events is called The Rookie. The main objective of this activity is for teams to grow a small investment into a big pile of money. They will do this through a range of tasks they are required to perform such as busking, creating artwork to be sold, shoe shining, and a lot more money making opportunities for the public. In the end, the money earned by teams can be donated to a charity of your own choice.

We don’t have as much chance to become great heroes, but these opportunities are great to grab. If you’re ready to become an altruist even just for a relatively small amount, then schedule these team building activities with us now at 1 300 267 738!

Livening Up Office Lives

April 19, 2009

Let’s face it: no matter how much you try to revamp the office, your people will eventually get bored. You have to admit that all of you need occasional doses of extreme fun.

A Sea Sailing Team Building Activity?

April 18, 2009

Have you ever thought of luxuriant sea sailing on deluxe catamarans for a team building activity? We know what you’re thinking. You probably deem it a ridiculous and unsuitable idea, but let us show you how it’s NOT.

Team building events are just some of the rare occasions that your people get together for chances of fun. We’ve come up of the Crew Synergy Sailing which is team building activity that lets you and your people enjoy sweeping the blue seas and relax for a little while before we inject team building through a really exciting way.

It won’t be a contest of speed. Crew Synergy Sailing is a test of better performance between teams navigating their own vessels. The competition will base on the sailing and navigation tasks for a preset course. Team members will have to work together as one cooperative unit to be able to make it through different designated waypoints. Each member will be assigned to all positions onboard. In the end, all vessels will have to arrive to a regatta.

We will be monitoring the performances of all teams. Towards the end of the event, we will be providing a workshop for your people for them to have a better understanding on the learnings from the activity and on how it applies to reality.

If you’re ready for the greatest day you’ll have afloat the waters, call us up at 1 300 267 738. We’ll set you up with the Crew Synergy Sailing team building event right away.

Team Building Event Ideas For Restaurant And Suchlike Businesses

April 17, 2009

Are you a food business owner/head looking for great ideas for a team building event? We have some for you! Though you can definitely avail any of our team building events, we want to recommend two that really focuses on the business that is food.

First, we have what we call The Great Australian BBQ Challenge. This event is a version of the foodies’ favourite game show, the Iron Chef. It is a great stage for teams to challenge each other’s culinary powers, and an excellent opportunity for them to further understand teamwork and working under pressure. Through the event, teams are expected to learn how to rely on each other’s members to be able to execute all tasks efficiently. Participants should be able to develop their creative thinking, decision making, communication and interaction skills through the activity.

The Great Australian BBQ Challenge starts as teams are assigned a secret ingredient they must be able to incorporate effectively in all courses of a meal. And just like the show goes, they will then plan, prepare, cook and plate, and present their dishes on time to the judges.

Our other food business focused team building activity is the Our Restaurant Rules. At some areas, this event is similar to The Great Australian BBQ Challenge, but it is more on the whole restaurant operations aspects. The objectives of both events are alike, but this time, they will be reached by the pressure of a real life commercial kitchen. Our Restaurant Rules require teams to come up with a theme for the restaurant, produce a marketing campaign, and deliver real results in the kitchen!

Teams will be given a budget, briefed on the business and handed a list of focused initiatives, and then allotted a 30 minute period to plan their concept of a restaurant business. Aside from the budget, teams are also provided some resources and materials, but they will be given an extra hour to source more supplies just in and around the resort. After so, teams are given another hour to build, develop and practice the operations of their restaurant. They will be critiqued, but will be allowed another 15 minutes to make the final modifications and finishing touches to their presentations.

These are splendid options for your business staff, but if you want to know more about what we can offer, you can reach us at 1 300 766 879. We’ll be glad to talk to you!

How Television Shows Inspire And Pep Up Our Team Building Events

April 12, 2009

We are greatly inspired by fun games and activities that people really enjoy watching on television, so we integrate them into team building events that participants will be very much willing to get involved in. The activities are not all exactly alike the original but rest assured, just as fun. We adapt parts of the game which we can incorporate team building and bring out what you want from your people.

Some of our TV inspired events include:

The Amazing Race Around: Works just like the Amazing Race show, but team will only be racing around most cities of Australia. Participants would have to successfully complete each station’s challenge before moving on to the next one.

Our Restaurant Rules: Where teams will be made to muster up an idea for a restaurant, market their business through a campaign, and execute the operations in the kitchen.

Corporate Hijack: Teams will be working like CSI’s, faced with mental and physical challenges. This is great team building event to hone different skills (e.g. communication, leadership, decision making, among others).

High Rollers: A big idea from the big screen that makes for a great team building and bonding activity for its being fun.

If you want to know more about our other team building event/activity ideas, you can reach us very easily through 1 300 267 738. We’ll set you up a team building event you’ll never forget.
