Cooking a Delicious Team Building Event
July 19, 2009
Aprons on and be ready for Battle! This is a team building event that will not only excite your taste buds, but will also develop creative thinking, open communication and team interaction. The Great Australian BBQ Challenge will match the high energy of the television show, Iron Chef.
This team building program will challenge the groups’ culinary skills, will encourage team work, and will develop greater understanding of working under pressure. The members of the group will feel like professional chefs because they will get the chance to wear chef hats and aprons and will also be using an array of kitchen utensils, Gourmet BBQ’s, and a whole bunch of ingredients to prepare themed courses including an entree, a gourmet salad, a sample of delicious vegetables, and an Aussie meat dish containing a secret ingredient.
Participants will be given objectives to complete, have scarce resources, be limited by time and face a variety of surprise obstacles. And they will still be expected to succeed, just like at work! This fantastic team building event is divided into several progressive phases; each one more complicated and requiring greater teamwork in order for the teams to be successful. At the end of each phase the facilitator will invite participants to offer opinions, strategies and ideas. The discussion will focus on teamwork, idea sharing, and support, trust, working together, defining roles, leadership and communication. Teams will be challenged to take their team support, and therefore their overall performance, to the next level in order to achieve success.

Team Building Event Ideas For Restaurant And Suchlike Businesses
April 17, 2009
Are you a food business owner/head looking for great ideas for a team building event? We have some for you! Though you can definitely avail any of our team building events, we want to recommend two that really focuses on the business that is food.
First, we have what we call The Great Australian BBQ Challenge. This event is a version of the foodies’ favourite game show, the Iron Chef. It is a great stage for teams to challenge each other’s culinary powers, and an excellent opportunity for them to further understand teamwork and working under pressure. Through the event, teams are expected to learn how to rely on each other’s members to be able to execute all tasks efficiently. Participants should be able to develop their creative thinking, decision making, communication and interaction skills through the activity.
The Great Australian BBQ Challenge starts as teams are assigned a secret ingredient they must be able to incorporate effectively in all courses of a meal. And just like the show goes, they will then plan, prepare, cook and plate, and present their dishes on time to the judges.
Our other food business focused team building activity is the Our Restaurant Rules. At some areas, this event is similar to The Great Australian BBQ Challenge, but it is more on the whole restaurant operations aspects. The objectives of both events are alike, but this time, they will be reached by the pressure of a real life commercial kitchen. Our Restaurant Rules require teams to come up with a theme for the restaurant, produce a marketing campaign, and deliver real results in the kitchen!
Teams will be given a budget, briefed on the business and handed a list of focused initiatives, and then allotted a 30 minute period to plan their concept of a restaurant business. Aside from the budget, teams are also provided some resources and materials, but they will be given an extra hour to source more supplies just in and around the resort. After so, teams are given another hour to build, develop and practice the operations of their restaurant. They will be critiqued, but will be allowed another 15 minutes to make the final modifications and finishing touches to their presentations.
These are splendid options for your business staff, but if you want to know more about what we can offer, you can reach us at 1 300 766 879. We’ll be glad to talk to you!

The Great Australian BBQ Challenge Team Building Activity – Fun, Unique, and Extremely Yummy!
September 23, 2008
The Great Australian BBQ Challenge is a team building activity that offers both a great time and an awesome meal to share at the end; in addition to a wide range of learning experiences.
After being divided up into smaller teams, your staff will be challenged with planning and preparing a themed menu including a gourmet salad, grilled veggies, and a tasty meat dish using the secret ingredient of the day. And, while all ingredients will be provided, the facilitator will interject some other challenges into the day to make sure your team stays on their toes!
Also, just like at the office, there is a deadline. Your team must have planned, prepared and presented their BBQ masterpiece on time. It will then be judged with the others creations and the winner announced. But the real reward comes when everyone gets to share in all the meals created for one big BBQ!
This team building activity provides great opportunities for improving staff communication, relationships and idea sharing along with frequent opportunities for processing the events with a trained team building facilitator.
